Floorprint · privacy

Your home's layout is nobody's data.

Floorprint is a room-scanning app for iPhone, with a macOS companion, that generates floor plans and 3D models. This page describes what data Floorprint handles and what it does with it. The short version: your scans, plans, and measurements never leave your device unless you explicitly share them.

What Floorprint collects

Nothing. Floorprint has no accounts, no analytics, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party SDKs. The developer receives no data from the app.

Where your plans live

Floor plans are saved as files in the app's Documents folder on your device. They are not synced, uploaded, or transmitted anywhere by Floorprint. If you choose to share a plan or an export (PDF, DXF, STEP, USDZ, GLB, or a .floorplan archive) via the iOS share sheet — to Mail, Messages, AirDrop, Files, or any other destination — that destination's privacy policy governs the file from that point forward.

If you have iCloud Backup enabled at the system level, your plans may be included in your encrypted iCloud Backup. That is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours.

Camera and LiDAR access

Floorprint requests camera access to scan rooms. Scanning uses Apple's RoomPlan framework, which processes camera and LiDAR data on-device to detect walls, doors, windows, and furniture. Camera frames are used only during an active scan and are not stored or transmitted.

Location access (optional)

If you enable address tagging, Floorprint requests "While Using" location access to attach a street address to a scan. To turn coordinates into an address, the app uses Apple's geocoding service — this is the only network communication in the app, it happens only when you scan with location enabled, and it is governed by Apple's privacy policy. The resulting address is stored locally with the plan and nowhere else. Decline the location permission and everything else works the same.

Motion access

Floorprint requests motion access to capture room orientation relative to true north during a scan. Motion data is processed on-device and discarded.

On-device processing

All geometry processing — floor plan generation, 3D model construction, quality scoring, and every export format — runs on your device. There is no server-side component.

Children

Floorprint is rated 4+. It does not collect any information from anyone, so it does not collect information from children either.

Changes

If a future version of Floorprint changes what data it handles, this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date revised before that version ships.
